Marisa Nicely, LMSW, is a dedicated leader in the nonprofit sector with 27 years of experience supporting Community Mental Health and Early Education programs throughout Southeast Michigan. With a master’s degree in social work, she has built a career defined by advocacy, compassionate leadership, and a steadfast commitment to the well-being of children, families, and communities.
Marisa’s impact has been widely recognized. She was named one of Crain’s Detroit Business “40 Under 40,” is a recipient of the MI-AIMH Living Legacy of Leadership Award in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, and is a proud graduate of Leadership Detroit Class XXXIII. Her work continues to shape and strengthen systems that support Michigan’s most vulnerable populations.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Marisa is passionate about living a balanced and connected life. She loves spending time outdoors—whether hiking, golfing, boating, or tending to her garden. A believer in healthy, vibrant communities, she serves on her local recreation commission and actively supports initiatives that bring people together.
Marisa lives in Grosse Ile Township, where she has resided since 2017, with her husband, three spoiled border collies, and one very bossy cat. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, she remains deeply connected to her family and cultural roots, which continue to inspire her work and her sense of purpose.
