Autism Comprehensive Care Center Video Tour

Autism is a spectrum that affects individuals and families in unique ways. Easterseals MORC has supported those on the autism spectrum for years and consistently found families feel isolated and misunderstood. We created a welcoming space designed with these families' needs in mind and almost every visitor has remarked, “You’ve really thought of everything.” Come see for yourself!

The Main Lobby

Welcome to our Waterford Autism Comprehensive Care Center. This space was designed with families in mind — it’s warm, welcoming, and inclusive. We’ve also included a private area for families who may need a quieter space or a place to talk confidentially with a team member.

Little Saplings - Early Childhood Wing

This wing serves our youngest learners and focuses on early skill development and socialization in a supportive, play-based environment.

Assessment/Observation Room - This room allows parents to observe their child’s sessions during assessments or treatment, supporting collaboration and transparency. It’s also used as a training space for graduate students and clinicians to continue their professional development.

POD Room / BCBA Office - Our POD room is designed to mirror a preschool classroom — an engaging, child-centered space where children can play side by side or together. By having multiple children in one room, we can promote socialization, communication, and tolerance of everyday distractions.

Gross Motor Room - Here, children can move, play, and regulate their sensory needs through structured and free-play activities. It’s a wonderful space for physical engagement and social interaction.

Circle Time Room - This space supports transitions and routine — just like in a preschool setting. It provides opportunities for group activities such as circle time, arts and crafts, and games that build communication, attention, and cooperative play skills.

Potty Training Clinic - This space was designed with families in mind.  All stalls are big enough for three individuals to be in the stall at all times.  There is a separate space for those who might need more privacy and/or for when we are doing intensive toilet training (aka potty party day!).  We spend 2-3 days in the bathroom with the individual, parent/guardian, close family members who will assist, etc.

We also know that potty training is hard... and adding on a bunch of dirty laundry or having to buy a significant amount of clothing/underwear can be a barrier to families, which is why it was important to us to have a washer/dryer so that families go home with clean clothes.

Main Street

Main Street is one of the most exciting areas in our center — it’s designed to mirror real-life community settings where children, adolescents, and young adults can learn functional, vocational, and independent living skills.

Playground - Our outdoor play area resembles a school playground, giving children opportunities for natural play — from riding bikes and playing tag to taking walks to decompress.  Safety skills can be reinforced with the community signs.

Speech & OT Spaces - Although Speech and Occupational Therapy take place throughout the building, these dedicated spaces allow for focused, goal-driven interventions in a calm and organized setting.

Life Skills Areas - Café – A realistic café setting where clients can practice communication, social, and vocational skills such as ordering, “money” exchange, and customer service.

Haircut / Dentist / Doctor Office – A flexible space that transforms into different environments to help clients prepare for real-world appointments in a safe, familiar setting.

Grocery Store – Supports vocational training and pretend play for younger clients, helping them learn to plan, shop, and navigate a store.

Apartment – A hands-on learning environment for adolescents and young adults to build independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and daily routines.

Multi-Purpose Room - This large, flexible space supports older learners with opportunities for gross motor activity, structured recreation, and social engagement.

Mighty Oaks - School-Age Wing

This area is designed to meet the needs of our school-age clients, focusing on social interaction, independence, and emotional regulation.

Social Area - A comfortable, inviting space that feels like a natural hangout spot. It’s used for group games, video game-based social activities, and unstructured social opportunities where our clients can practice communication and flexibility.

Individual Treatment Rooms - These private, yet comfortable spaces are used for ABA sessions, outpatient mental health therapy, and family therapy. Each room supports a calm, respectful environment where adolescents and young adults can focus on individualized goals.
