Meet Amelia!

“Amelia cares a lot about other people,” Beth said. “She’s often been a protector for her peers against bullies and is always a source of positivity cheering on her fellow classmates in various activities.” 

Amelia not only regularly attends school events to cheer her fellow classmates on but can be seen in her community with her family helping to run a community garden and getting involved in various community events. 

“Amelia loves getting involved with at school and in the community,” Beth said. “She’s always willing to lend a helping hand and take it as an opportunity to grow as a young woman.” 

Matt Maclellan, Easterseals MORC’s Mental Health Clinician – IDD Behavioral Health, has been providing services and support to Amelia and her family for nearly a decade.  

“Since Amelia started receiving services at Easterseals MORC, I’ve noticed tremendous growth in her as a person,” Matt said. “She’s taken an active role to be a positive leader in both her school and community.” 

Beth shared that with Matt and the support of Easterseals MORC, Amelia has received the proper support needed at school and has gone above and beyond with school personnel to solve challenges Amelia has faced. 

“Matt has been a life savior with ensuring Amelia receives the best support,” Beth said. “My daughter trusts him and knows that she can share anything with him and the team at Easterseals MORC to ensure she gets the best support possible.” 

Amelia’s family expressed their gratitude for the services and support they receive from Easterseals MORC. Beth shared that her daughter has been able to live as independently as possible and on how she wants.  

“I couldn’t ask for better support,” Beth said. “Easterseals MORC has been incredibly helpful to Amelia and our family. I don’t know where we’d be without them.”
