Meet Brandon!

Brandon is a very active young boy who has been participating in the Miracle League of North Oakland adaptive programming for multiple years. Currently he gets involved with both summer and fall baseball, bowling, and hockey/skating.

His mother, Heather, said that her son loves all sports, but baseball has quickly become his favorite.  

“Brandon has learned hitting and fielding skills,” Heather said. “Miracle League of North Oakland has given him the opportunity to find out that he’s talented at baseball and that he’s a very social person.”

Heather shared that Miracle League adaptive programming has allowed her son to participate in an amazing experience that keeps him active and can be done on his terms.  

“Brandon looks forward to each event and game,” Heather said. “Everyone that we’ve met through this program has been so friendly and helpful. It’s just a wonderful experience for the kids and their families.” 

Easterseals MORC’s Miracle League began over 20 years ago, becoming Michigan’s first adaptive baseball field, in the heart of Southfield. Since then, the league has grown significantly, adding a new field in Orion Township in 2019 and now managing the Miracle League of Greater Flint field in Mundy Township.

The program has also expanded beyond baseball, now offering bowling, hockey, and skating skills, adaptive fitness, fun social events, and family gatherings, with even more activities on the way.   

“Our family is incredibly grateful for the Miracle League,” Heather said. “Susie Glasgow is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She truly cares for every person that attends a Miracle League event. The Miracle League brings around amazing people, and it’s truly a blessing that the program has great leadership ensuring that participants are safe, feel welcome, and have fun.”
