Meet Jen!

“13 years ago, I was a different person,” Jen said. “Once I found Easterseals MORC, everything changed. I’ve met a lot of great people who have helped and been there every step of the way in my journey. I’m proud to be 13 years sober.” 

In 2015, Jen began receiving case management services as well as group and individual therapies at Easterseals MORC. Jen expressed immense gratitude for two team members who have made the most difference in her recovery. 

“I’ve worked with a lot of the team at Easterseals MORC, but Serena B. and Jackie D. have gone above and beyond,” Jen said. “Serena is my current therapist, and she always meets me where I am without losing sight of where I need and want to be. Jackie is extremely dedicated to the people she works with. She’s allowed me to feel human, and I know I can trust her.” 

Serena Boldizar, Easterseals MORC OP Therapist – Macomb, shared how Jen has been making positive changes in her daily life and reaching closer to completing her goals.  

“Jen continues to make great strides since beginning at Easterseals MORC,” Serena said. “Most recently, Jen completed Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy! She has also recently re-enrolled in classes and has been working to improve relationships. She’s created a whole new outlook on life, spreading hope and positivity everywhere she goes. Jen is also an amazing advocate for mental health, recovery, and seeking services.”  

Jen doesn’t plan to halt her progress once she reaches her goals. She hopes to continue reaching new goals and one day help others who are experiencing similar challenges she's faced. Jen explained that she wants to be a positive support to others, making sure they too have the tools to reach their goals. 

“I’m extremely grateful for the support I’ve received from Easterseals MORC,” Jen said. “I’m excited to be an ambassador and share my story, hopefully helping others who are experiencing similar challenges like I have faced. I’m ready to make a positive difference in others!”
